That kid caught that fish on a crawdad immitation. I seen his tackle and when he caught a fairly large trout outta there about over a week ago. He set his fly rod down to revive the fish and I peaked at his tackle. the last day I was there when he was present he hadn't caught it yet. But good luck everyone. the lake is full and the water is not coming out the tube anymore.

The fly rod he was using was a cheap field and stream by the way. No $1500 gettup by any means.
Impressive - I have no room to talk smack, I've never got a Muskie :-\

Now that I'll believe. Those fish definitely munch the freshwater lobsters. The trout nymph thing was believable once, but not twice. Some guy in the newspaper down here caught a 40"+ fish on corn one time, but it was a fluke. Catching one on a trout nymph would be that same kind of fluke. A crawdad imitation is definitely believable though.

I'm still curious about the line setup. If he really got that fish on 4x or 5x or whatever it was he claimed, he needs to check with the IFGA about a line class record.

The more I look at that picture, that fish COULD be close to 46", but I'm still thinking he stretched it at least a few inches.

Sick fish for sure but not 30-35lb's. Kudos to him on the release. Sooo many people would kill a fish like that.
Fish is long... Over 40" no doubt. Would give it 42-44" which is bigger than any I have caught.
A beast for sure and two in one week with a sissy stick makes it even more crazy.

This time I give him credit for the length. After all the flack last time I doubt he forgot the tape measurer. The weight is a huge overestimation though. I'd rather him overestimate & release, than keep & be more accurate. Great pics without the usual stiff arm.

That's def. a beautiful fish!! Absolutely love the markings on it!!

SOOOOOO glad it was released!!

I haven't read the fish explorer post. But the day I was there he was using 3x. And I witnessed him catch several large brood trout in average length of 22" - 24" WITH 3X LINE. He was also using a bobber like strike indicator on his fly rod and just kept pitching it under the tube and letting it float out. I was fishing in the same area and doing very well.
